Atlantic City Pro Championship, held at the Trump
Marina Casino in Atlantic City, New Jersey.
What a
long trip from Oregon to Atlantic City. Total of 10 hours of travel
time.
2nd Place
and a qualification to the 2008 Ms. Olympia was worth all the pain of this
travel.
There
were 18 competitors in my class and no separation of weight division this
time. All lightweights and heavyweights are now in one class.
This time, I did not have to make weight nor do an additional 3 hours of
cardio before weigh-in like I did for the Europa Super Show. That was
such a relief.
During
prejudging in the morning, I was in the first call-out for all symmetry,
muscularity, and conditioning rounds. The others were Lisa Aukland,
Betty Adkins, Marja Lehtonen, and Kim Buck. We were not compared
around and stayed in our original spots.
Ahhhh,
the finals...it was supposed to have started at 6 pm and the IFBB show did
not start until 7 pm because of the NPC Competition falling behind schedule.
So, the fbb's did not even step on stage til 8:30 pm!
Finally,
we all performed our 2 minute routine and then the posedown. The
awards then came...and whalah...2nd place.
I am
ecstatic that I've set my goal and given myself this birthday present
(birthday was Sept. 12) to be top 3 and qualify for the 2008 Ms. Olympia.
So,
another 2 weeks of dieting and contest prep for the Olympia. It's such
a sweet deal...
Maybe
I'll see some of you in Vegas baby!

Now...the "superbowl" of Bodybuilding, The Olympia!
This event was held at the Orleans Casino Hotel, Las Vegas, Nevada.
This is
the competition of all competition in the bodybuilding world. All the
#1 contenders of smaller pro shows qualified in this event. The
competition? Stiff, stiff, stiff...
Having
done the Europa 6 weeks prior, I took 13th Place. I was not able to
hold my condition. Therefore, I did not do well. But, 13th best
in the world is not bad as far as I'm concerned.
The show
was ran very smoothly and all athletes were kept informed at all time to
avoid any confusion. At this stage, being carb depleted...we are
easily confused. So, we had a lot of help there.
I'm
relieved that the competition is done for the year and I can now sit back
and relax.
I'm very
grateful to all my friends that attended the show and showed their support.
Thank You so very much! |

Europa
Super Show, August 10, 2007, 3rd biggest show in the bodybuilding sport next
to Ms. Olympia and the Arnold Classic.
1st and
Overall Winner!!! But let me tell you my journey in getting there.
Leaving Oregon Thursday, I weighed at 139 lbs. I planned on competing
at the Lightweight Class which is 135 lbs. and under. Okay, okay...got
to Dallas, TX and still weighing the same after all the water depletion and
just having 2 carb meals at 4 am in the morning.
The
competitor's meeting starts at 6:30 pm which is also the weigh in for the
fbbs. Prior to that I had completed 2 hour cardio segments
just to weigh in at 136 lbs.!!! Okay then, I had to go back at 8:30 pm
and completed another hour of cardio just to weigh in at 135.2!!!
So...I then went outside of the hotel, where it's hot and humid, run down
the street and up the stairs for about 8 rounds. At this point, I'm so
burnt out and went back in to weigh in for the last time. I took all
my jewelries as well because any extra ounce at this point does count.
Finally, I'm right on the dot...135 lbs. Thank God!!!
The show
then begins Friday. It was a tough class and having to compete next to
the newly turned pros, Debbie Bramwell and Debi L. made me sweat.
They're both in top condition and will be tough to beat. All of the
ladies were in great condition as well but the two D's were my most
competition.
During
the prejudging, we were called out in no specific order and did our
comparisons. We had two rounds and the judges forgot to do the Quarter
Turn comparisons, so there were only two rounds that was done during this
time. For this time, it went short and sweet.
During
the finals, the top five was called out and in the end, I took first, Debbie
B, 2nd, Debi L., 3rd, Dena Westerfield, 4th and Angela Debatin, 5th.
We were
told by one of the expediters that there won't be any Overall Awards so I
proceeded to get changed and while I was starting to head out, they called
me back again saying that there is an Overall Award and that the Head Judge
just made that decision. So, off I go again head to head with Tazzie
Colomb, heavyweight.
Tazzie
was in phenomenal condition but in the end, I was awarded the Overall Award.
I'm so grateful for that!!!
I had
previously won this event back in 2004 and my true goal was to not just win
my class, but also to win Overall. And I did!!!
So I
thank all of you for believing in me and all the support and motivation
along with my contest and diet preparations.
Now, off
I go to the "Superbowl" of bodybuilding the Ms. Olympia which will be held
in Las Vegas. Hope to see you there and if not, I know that your
thoughts are all there for me.

February 24, 2007, IFBB Sacramento Pro Grand
Prix Female Bodybuilding was newly added by one of my favorite promoter, Jon
Lindsay.
The competition was held at the Crest Theater in
Sacramento, California.
Well, I did not make my weight by 1 pound so I ended up
with the heavyweights. Lightweight are under 135 and anything over is
heavyweight. Darn!!!
The competition was tough but I managed to place
fourth. I'm happy with that. This, I should say was my best
shape so far. All the cardio, the dieting, and the training all paid
off because my conditioning was "almost" perfect. It's all about
working towards perfection and the next show will be better.

2004 Ms. Olympia was held at the Mandalay
Bay, Las Vegas, October 29, 2004.
Wow! What a great experience and I'm
so, so grateful to have been part of the "Superbowl" of bodybuilding sport.
I was very impressed with the organization of
the whole program and the professionalism of the entire staff. Thank
you to all of you.
This year was the first year the IFBB
(International Federation of Bodybuilding) and AMI (American Media, Inc.)
partnered to have this event as entertaining and successful. And yes,
it was.
I took 6th place at the Lightweight
Division. There were 9 competitors in my class. All I can say is that
no matter what the outcome was, I'll be ready to do the 2005 Ms. Olympia and
do a lot better.

On August 6-7 was the SW USA Pro Cup
Championship. It was held in Dallas, Texas. Seven lightweight
competitors and 4 Heavyweight competitors were present.
I won the lightweight division and
proceeded to compete for the overall award which was given to Bonnie Priest
of the Heavyweight Division. It was a really good match but Bonnie
came in tighter than I did.
It was a well organized competition and I
applaud Betty and Ed Pariso for having this show happen. They spent a
lot of their funds to ensure that this show happened and it's because they
both believed in this sport most specially for the "female" athletes.
Another special thanks is for the Jan Tana
Staff. They did an excellent job paying very close attention to the
ladies applying the Jan Tana Tanning products as well as hair and make-up.
This win qualifies me for the Ms. Olympia
which will be in Las Vegas, October 29, 2004. So friends, clients, and
supporters -- I would love for all of you to be there and watch the
"Superbowl of Bodybuilding."

Hi guys, I just got done
competing at the Ms. International and had such a blast! The event was
packed with people who experienced a wide variety of sports and challenges
such as:
-
Ms.
International Bodybuilding Competition
-
Arnold
Classic Bodybuilding
-
World
Martial Arts Games
-
Arnold
Strongest Man Contest
-
Armwrestling
Challenge
-
Bench Press
Challenge, and many more
I got to meet
the none other than Mr. Olympia, Arnold Schwarzenegger. What an
awesome man! The promoters (Arnold S. and Jim Lorimer) treated all the
athletes with pride from picking us up from the airport up to dropping us
back off to the airport. It was such a classy experience and I felt
like I was walking on "Red Carpet."
I did not do that well but I have considered that
only "18 women" in the world was invited in this prestigious
show and I'm ever so grateful for that.
I thank all my supporters out there for wishing me
well and still believing in me.
Click here for some photos of me at the show.
Thanks to all the photographers out there for
their contributions. |
