Have you found yourself slipping back into old habits?
It's a common challenge! Many people who set hopeful fitness goals at the start of 2025 have faced setbacks along the way. I truly hope you aren't among them.
But if you are experiencing this cycle, don't worry! Here’s a gentle guide on how to lift yourself back up and get back on track:

1) First You Fall
Your fall from the wagon could occur in a single moment or result from a drawn-out process. You may gradually fall out of exercise due to health problems or life issues that arise and take up your time.
Illness, vacations, holidays, changes at work, or any alteration to your schedule can all lead to getting you off the wagon. Once you’re off, the real damage begins.

2) Second, You Surrender
Sometimes, after a setback, it can feel like the best choice is just to let go and indulge in whatever you crave. It might feel dramatic when you opt for your favorite treats, or when food becomes your go-to source of comfort in stressful times.
However, this moment of surrender can be a tricky part of the journey. When you stop holding yourself to any expectations, it can lead to a downward spiral into less healthy habits. Sadly, this can mean losing the progress you’ve made toward your goals, and you might find that more weight creeps on gained.

3) Then You Hit Bottom
There often comes a time when we reach a low point. You notice some new weight gain, and it can feel tough. This moment can be pretty eye-opening, revealing how we've allowed ourselves to drift from where we want to be, and it's natural to feel uneasy about it. Those negative thoughts might swirl around in your head.
While hitting bottom isn't the happiest experience, it's an important step. Sometimes, the discomfort needs to become strong enough to inspire us to make a change and regain control.

4) Finally You Take Control
Now comes the exciting part! After hitting rock bottom, it might have felt like you were out of control, but now you’re ready to take charge again. It’s time to place yourself back on your priority list. Think about setting some healthy guidelines for your diet and getting back into a regular workout routine. How about establishing specific, achievable goals for yourself that you can tackle within a certain timeframe? Now, let's roll up our sleeves and get to work, reclaiming your body, your freedom, and your life!
